Our Core Values

1.) Respect is non-negotiable.

We believe every person should be treated with kindness.  Our instructors respect each person as a valuable human being, no matter age, race, gender, or religion.

2.) We invest our heart.

Our team loves teaching, and we value time spent with each student.  We are attentive and present, and we focus on the individual during lessons and classes.

3.) Teamwork makes dreamwork.

Teachers, students, and parents become an invaluable team, and our collective goal is creating an excellent experience for each student.

4.) We are relational.

Relationships are the most important part of learning, and we value getting to know each student and family.  Art is an emotional study, and a relational experience creates the best learning environment.

5.) Patience is a teacher’s virtue.

Our teachers create a warm environment that allows for making mistakes, playing wrong notes, falling, failing, and all the other things that help us learn, grow, and create.

6.) We have a growth-mindset.

Our teachers continue to learn and try new things.  We create dynamic learning environments and think “outside the box” to create a learning experience that  is unique and best suites each individual.

7.) Flexible trees are the sturdiest.
We are flexible and do our best to pivot when needed.  Flexibility is grace in practice.

8.) We are honest.

Hard conversations are the most important discussions— they are the seeds for brainstorming, planning, authentic teamwork, and forward growth.  We are honest about lessons and growth, practicing and performing, and anything else that might come to the surface.

9.) Hard work + fun = JOY.

We expect hard work, consistent practicing, and perseverance.  We equally emphasize fun— an essential pairing for life-long learning.

10.) Every human is deserving of the arts.

At The Music Staff Studio, tuition should never prohibit learning. We will always make a place for families who can not afford lessons or classes.
